Transfer Process

Transfer Process

Sometimes when you enter a new school, you find that it is not what you had in mind, or you find a school that is better suited for you. Many times, students get to their schools prepared to study English but find that they are not given the attention or time to practice that they expected. Especially in bigger classrooms, there are too many students, so you are not given a lot of time to practice your English or ask questions. That is why at American English Language School, we emphasize smaller class sizes so that you have plenty of opportunities to speak, ask questions, and receive immediate feedback from your teachers. If you are thinking about transferring schools, there are three easy steps for transferring.

The first step is to apply. You can find our application form on our website. Along with the application form, you will need a copy of your current passport and F-1 visa, your current I-20 Form, a certificate of bank balance showing $26,400 or more, and your high school diploma or college transcripts. Once you have turned in all of the documents (in person or online), the next step is to pay the $100 application fee.

After we have received your payment, we will email you your Acceptance Letter and SEVIS I-20 Transfer Form. You will need to fill out the form and submit it, along with your Acceptance Letter, to the school you are transferring from. The school will fill out the rest of the form and will either give you the form back or email it to us. When we receive the paperwork, you will receive your new I-20 Form from us. Then it is time for you to get ready to start studying at AELS.
