How to Get Started

How to Get Started

Do you want to study to improve your English? Do you not know where to begin? American English Language School can help! Plenty of people want to study English in the United States, but they don’t know where or how to start. If that sounds like you, keep reading to find more information to help you get started on your journey to mastering English!

First, you need to think about where you want to go to study English. What part of the U.S. do you want to visit? If you are looking for some sunny weather, beaches, and famous attractions like Disneyland and Hollywood, then Los Angeles is the perfect location for you to come and study. We recommend researching popular attractions in different cities to find the right language school for you.

After you have decided which school is right for you, you will need to apply. Different schools have different requirements needed to apply. Generally, you will need to submit an application form along with copies of your passport, recent bank statement, and a high school diploma. After you have submitted all of the necessary documents and paid your application fees, the school will issue you an I-20 form with your intended start date and the length of your program. The I-20 form will also provide you with your SEVIS number. You will need this number to set up your DS-160 form. The form will take approximately 90 minutes to complete and then you can move forward to the last step.

Lastly, you will need to schedule a visa interview and pay the interview fee. The interviewer will ask you some questions to determine your eligibility for your F-1 visa. After you have been approved, it’s time to celebrate! You will need to prepare for your arrival to the United States. Be sure to prepare your flight, housing, and health insurance as much advance as possible.
