Going to class and studying your weekly vocabulary is a very important part of learning English. Podcasts are a wonderful way for students to learn English because it improves listening skills and gives students more inexperience with conversational English and American culture. 1. Stuff You Missed in History Class
For many people, history can be a boring subject; however, Holly Frey and Tracy Wilson are two history enthusiasts who discuss major events of the past in such an interesting and engaging way. They introduce a variety of historical events that they might skip or glaze over in a normal history class with each episode.
This podcast is a wonderful way for students to learn about American and World History as well as get an ear for the English language.
2. The Nerdist
The Nerdist is a very fun podcast where a group of friends discuss a variety of trends that they used to enjoy from the past. This podcast discusses a variety of topics such as American movies, comic books, and video games.
Listening to this podcast is a great way to learn how to engage and understand conversational English as well as immerse yourself in American culture!
3. Here’s the Thing with Alec Baldwin
Here’s the Thing is a wonderful podcast full of amazing people discussing everyday life. American film, television and stage actor, Alec Baldwin interviews some of the most famous people in politics, the arts, and more. He is an engaging interviewer who asks his guests about why they do what they do, how they became who they are, and the important decisions and failures they have made in their careers.
This is a wonderful podcast that lets you get more understanding of American culture and learn some very important vocabulary.
