TOEFL Preparation

TOEFL Preparation

Did you know that American English Language School offers a TOEFL preparation course? The course is available for students to take as a class or as private tutoring. The preparation course will go over the structure of the test, the different skill areas, and techniques to help students feel more prepared for their test.

In order to enroll in our TOEFL preparation class, students must have completed Level 5 of our ESL program, or new applicants may choose to take our placement test and receive a sufficient score. However, the placement test is not required if you want to enroll in private tutoring.

Throughout the week, students will work on various reading passages and text-related questions, listen to lectures from teachers and conversations between students, and respond to integrated and independent writing prompts.

Besides honing your reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills, you will also improve your vocabulary. Students will have a set of vocabulary words each week that they will go over with their teachers. Throughout the week, students will review the vocabulary for the week. Then at the end of the week, they will have a vocabulary quiz on the words of the week.

Along with the weekly quizzes, students will have weekly TOEFL practice tests. Each week, students will focus on a section of the test, and be tested on that section on Fridays. After students have completed their tests, they will go over the results with their teacher.

Now you should memorize the words and practice using them. To help you remember, you can use them in sentences, make flashcards, or play vocabulary games. You can use whichever method you prefer.

If you are interested in enrolling in a TOEFL preparation course or private lessons, fill out an inquiry form on our website (https://www.aels.edu) or email info@aels.edu.
