AELS Application Process

AELS Application Process

The first step to enrolling in American English Language School is to simply apply. Applying is easy, and you can find all the steps required on our website. The first step to apply is to download our application form (which can be found on our website). Our application form requires some information about you, your goals, where you want your I-20 sent, and your homestay preferences. Once your application form is complete, you can bring it into our office, or simply email us the form. Along with your application form, we will need a copy of your passport, high school diploma or college transcripts, and a certificate of bank balance. Once we have everything that we need, you will receive your acceptance letter and banking information from us. It usually only takes a day or two to receive your letter. When you receive your acceptance letter from us, you will need to pay the application fee ($100), I-901 SEVIS Fee ($350), and Express Mailing Fee ($50).

After you receive your acceptance letter and pay the necessary fees, we will ship your I-20 Form. We guarantee that you will receive your I-20 Form within one week. Along with your I-20 Form, you will receive the UPS tracking number, so you can track your I-20. After you have your I-20 Form, it is up to you to fill out the online nonimmigrant visa application. You will have to have your passport and I-20 Form ready. After submitting your application, print out the DS-160 Form. Next, you will need to schedule your visa interview. You will need your application number from your DS-160 Form and your SEVIS ID # from your I-20 Form. Pay your interview fee, make your appointment, and prepare for your interview.

When going to your appointment, make sure to bring the interview appointment letter from the National Visa Center, a valid passport, two color passport photographs, your I-20 Form, I-901 receipt, bank statements, confirmation of completed visa application, and your school admission letter. All these documents are required, so be sure to prepare them in time for your interview. If you are successful, then it is time to prepare for your trip to the United States! You can enter the U.S. 30 days from the school’s start date. After entering the U.S., you will need to report to your school and discuss the next steps.
